Let's talk shop, my friends!
Recently, a fellow photographer and long time friend of mine were talking about my workshop prices. He was genuinely curious to know why my prices are higher than those '$99-$500 Masterclasses' or '$200-$500 DEEP DIVE WORKSHOPS'? Well, let's demystify some marketing terms.
First off, MASTERING anything takes time, effort, failure, learning, improvement, and repeating this process over several times. There's no shortcuts to experience, and a 1-4 Day Masterclass or a 4-8 hour video is Bullshit. As for a 'Deep Dive Workshop' in 4 hours, that's not diving deep; it's just a splash in the baby pool. Yep I said, AND I stand behind it!
Now, about my $1,799 workshop vs. the $150-$500 ones out there:
Quality vs. Quantity:
At the heart of it all is a simple philosophy - it's not about cramming as many participants as possible into a session. I deliberately limit my workshop spots to 6 photographers and 3 models scaled proportionally. Why? Because your learning experience matters to me.
By keeping it intimate, I ensure you get the attention you deserve. It's not a crowded room with everyone fighting for their moment; it's an exclusive space tailored to your needs.
Two days means more than just scratching the surface. It's about focused intent, working on practical exercises, and crafting a portfolio that truly reflects your unique style.
Contrary to the mass-conference approach and current workshop scene, my workshops are not about numbers on a balance sheet. A $500 workshop with 20 photographers and 1 or 2 models in a 4 hour rush is more about profit margins than your growth!
Models:
Unlike some events and conferences that exploit models for a free portfolio boost, we believe in fair compensation. Our models aren't just there to fill a frame; they're valued contributors to the creative process. We pay them for their 2 days of work because every professional deserves recognition for their talent.
We go the extra mile! Not only do we compensate our models, but we also cover their lodging. It's a token of appreciation for their dedication and a way to ensure they can fully commit to creating magic during the workshop.
We've all been to those conferences where non-paid models seem to call the shots, or cancel booked times to work with a more desired photographer, leaving participants shortchanged. In our world, it's different. I handpick models based on professionalism and skills, creating an environment where respect flows both ways.
Variety:
Ever felt like a cookie-cutter photographer? We’ve all been to those workshops and conferences we walked away with a great shot, just to get home and see 20 other people already posted the same shot, with the same model, in the same pose, because the instructor set up the shot, and herded us all like fucking cattle into a line waiting for our 10 seconds to shoot and scoot. Not here! We say no to the conveyor belt experience.
For every two photographers, we have one dedicated model, carefully chosen for their uniqueness. It's our secret sauce for ensuring you capture one-of-a-kind shots that stand out in the crowd.
Large, exclusive venues are our canvas, ensuring no overlap, no cramped corners, and a multitude of options for diverse poses and backgrounds.
To create a portfolio that screams 'you' and not just another carbon copy. Our workshops are designed to be a feast for your creativity, offering a range of models and settings so that you leave with a collection as unique as your artistic vision.
Instruction:
Let's talk about the maestro of our workshops who turns ordinary into extraordinary:
Ever wonder who's crafting the LASCIVA boudoir workshop experience? Me! As a former TACP and Chief JTAC-Instructor I have a significant instructor based background both in operating and teaching complex tasks like coordinating and executing airstrikes to prosecute targets in close proximity to friendly forces in high-stress, high stakes environments. Not only was I the Chief JTAC Instructor for several TACP units, I was also selected by name to come augment as an instructor at the coveted JTAC-Qualification Course.
Creating a boudoir workshop curriculum isn't just about listing poses and camera settings. It's an art, and our instructor is the artist. With years of experience in developing curriculum and training plans, you're in for a journey that goes beyond the basics, ensuring you leave with not just knowledge but a refined skill set.
Confidence without over-confidence and validated experience with a dash of passion – that's my instructor recipe for success. I’m not just here to teach; I’m here to guide, inspire, and share my love for the craft.
I say all this, not to toot my own horn… buuut… TOOT TOOT Motha Fuckaaas 😂; But for real, I say all this as an invitation to invest in your skillset and business. Don't settle for cheap and fast; invest in quality, stunning images, and a refined skillset. Ready for an upgrade? Let's talk or book a workshop or clinic today: [ www.lascivaboudoir.com/workshop ].
